The experiments on an intact rabbit thorax illustrate control mechanisms of heart and circulation function. ECG, frequency and blood pressure are constantly monitored. The following procedures are performed: clamping of both carotid arteries, electrical stimulation of the vagal nerves, and injection of acetylcholine, adrenalin and verapamil.
