Bird Anatomy II - Surface Anatomy of Birds

Producer: Yale University Press

This program is a multimedia approach to the study of the biology, behaviour, flight, and anatomical structure of birds, that works interactively with the laser videodisc Encyclopedia of Animals, Volume 4, Birds 1 from Pioneer Electronics (USA). Incorporating stunning graphics, animations, and bird sounds, along with clear, concise text, the stack explains complex anatomical information by linking bird anatomy to the explanatory text and video segments of actual bird behaviour in the field. This approach is particularly effective when applied to dynamic concepts such as flight, where detailed anatomical drawings of wing structures are linked to the video segment showing birds in flight.
