Haematoxylin and Eosin - A Training Guide

Producer: University of Portsmouth

This program provides an introduction to the histological preparation of biological materials and describes the chemical interactions associated with the common stain preparation - haematoxylin and eosin. Using a sample of rat gut the program describes the processes of dehydration, wax embedding, the use of the microtome, floating sections and staining procedures. A range of mammalian tissues are then investigated at low and high power.
